ellabee was founded in Munich in 2015 by the designer Madeleine Treuleben. Their goal was to give the leather trade in all its various forms a modern face and to produce creative and intelligent products for a wide variety of social occasions that underline the individuality of the respective customer far from the mainstream.

Old processing techniques in leather production and leather processing are highly valued at ellabee. These techniques result in sustainable, creative products that ensure long-term use of the hand-made luxury items and make them long-lasting companions.

ellabee attaches great importance to care and precision in the manufacture of their fine leather goods. Every ellabee accessory is manufactured in Europe in a traditional way and with the necessary time and tranquility. Selected, qualified bag makers devote themselves to every single work step with creative enthusiasm and pronounced fine motor skills - from the first line to the last seam. Craftsmanship is a commitment to classic craftsmanship, but at the same time proves that change and tradition are not mutually exclusive. Each leather item tells the story of its creation and allows contrasts to merge.

SUSTAINABILITY

ellabee pays particular attention to the sustainability of their products. During production, care is taken to use mainly biological materials, so the bags and wallets are lined with leather, without foam, PVC inserts or unnecessary cardboard. In the area of ​​packaging, the ellabee products are packed exclusively in "self-made paper boxes" or cotton bags. “Old cardboard boxes” are reused to ship the products. All accessories used by ellabee, such as zippers, carabiners, etc., also come from well-known companies from all over Europe.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
LEATHER TANNING

Sustainability is a matter of course at ellabee. Almost exclusively leather from species-appropriate animal husbandry is used and the processing also takes place with respect for nature: ellabee obtains its high-quality skins from tanneries that are certified according to the environmental management system (ISO standard 14001) and work according to old recipes with natural active ingredients. Dying is almost exclusively done by hand, with a careful wiping technique, long drying phases and targeted pigmentation.

This process does not require any heavy metal additives and is therefore much more environmentally friendly and material-friendly.
